Paul Smithers
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Paul Smithers, the youth and community manager at the
Fulham Football Club Foundation.
Paul was taken into hospital with
COVID mid-December 2021 where he contracted sepsis in the lungs and then a
secondary infection which eventually caused his death.
Paul was only 31 years old and
leaves behind his lovely girlfriend Danielle and 6 month year old son Louie.
Paul was passionate about his work
and showed a genuine interest in the development and betterment of the young
people in his care. He was a great friend to The Brunswick Club and we worked
on many inclusion projects and initiatives together.
Below is a link to the last
project, instigated by Paul, that we worked on. It was a visit to the Club in
October 2021 by Fulham FC player, Nathaniel Chalobah, to mark ‘World Mental
Health Day’. As with all the projects we worked on with Paul, it was a great
success.

Paul was a kind and caring young
man. It was truly shocking to hear of his sudden and untimely death. He will be
missed by us all at The Brunswick Club. Our thoughts are with his family at
this sad time. God bless them all.
